The Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is a 12-Step, highly structured remedial program that teaches the structure of the language to students who have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies, or who may require multi-sensory language instruction. WRS may be implemented in both individual and small-group (ideally up to 4 students) settings. Depending upon student profile and intensity (group size, lesson length, and frequency), it may take 2-3 years (or more) to complete all 12 Steps. It is a comprehensive program that can follow students from grade to grade as needed.

One-to-One Instruction
- At least two complete WRS lessons should be delivered each week.
- A complete WRS lesson usually takes 60-75 minutes to deliver in a 1:1 setting, but may take up to 90 minutes for some individuals.
- Example schedules include:
    1) 45 minutes, 4-5 times per week
    2) 60 minutes, 3-5 times per week
    3) 75-90 minutes, 2-5 times per week
- Students will progress more quickly if three to five complete WRS lessons are delivered each week. *This is highly recommended for students significantly below their expected reading levels and/or those with complex profiles.

Small Group Instruction
- The recommended group size is up to four students.
- At least two complete WRS lessons should be delivered each week.
- A complete WRS lesson takes 90 minutes to deliver in a small-group setting.
- Example schedules include:
    1) 45-60 minutes, 4-5 times per week
    2) 75-90 minutes, 2-5 times per week
